Into business
Our Dutch client wanted to realise a large-scale glasshouse complex in the southwest of England (Isle of Thanet) in cooperation with a local landowner (Robert Montgomery Ltd.). The land has a surface of approximately 60 hectares and the climate is suitable for cultivation under glass. The selected parcel is slightly inclining and has a calcareous soil. It was being used for the cultivation of various types of cabbage. In close consultation with the Planning Counsel we applied for a permission to realise glasshouses on this land. The construction of the glasshouses started mid 2006.
Based on the businessplan the English trading company Fresca got involved in the project and Dutch growers were found to establish in England.
