Our Greek client had plans to develop a greenhouse facility in Thessaloniki, Greece. The project idea was to produce vine tomatoes in a 9.75 ha modern greenhouse. The market focus was the regional market (high quality segment) in Greece and export markets like Russia, Hungary and Romania. A unique feature of this project was the heating system: the waste of the wooden pallets and old wooden pallets of a wooden pallet factory would be used in a wood fired heating installation of the greenhouse. A substantial part of the required equipment (greenhouses and installations) would be imported from the Netherlands. The project was to be realized in 2 phases of both approx. 5 ha.
