VEK's sustainability

Apart from the increasing demand for high quality vegetables, one should also take care with the production that the produce is safe and sustainable through a low water footprint by means of hydroponics. For food safety you must have the best agricultural practices through the implementation of the latest hygiene and sanitary regulations in the whole of your greenhouse operation. A low carbon foot-print can be achieved by usage of local production for local consumption ("local-for-local"). Usage of the available geothermal energy, waste heat from energy plants or big industrial complexes, and of small biomass factories!

Perhaps it is possible not only to develop just one greenhouse complex, but a whole new horticultural area. Especially in areas with needs for new employment.

For over 40 years VEK Adviesgroep has been involved in the setup of new greenhouse complexes all over the world. Not only is VEK familiar with the set-up of ‘standard’ greenhouses, but VEK also has vast experience and knowledge in the field of related buildings, breeding centers, research companies and greenhouse facilities such as greenhouse cooling, heating, screening, application of low-grade industrial heat, semi-closed greenhouses etc.

Based in the Netherlands, VEK has offered its services to both the international and domestic clients. The client basis of VEK consists of private growers, wholesalers and retail chains, supply industries, commercial banks and investors.
